Adults - Paul Cézanne - Still Life with Apples - Tate

The green vase, the rum bottle, the ginger jar, the apples: all elements that Cézanne repeated in his paintings for years, not because he was particularly interested in these objects, but in order to experiment with different images of them by layering brushstrokes and tones. A study so intense that both Matisse and Picasso declared: "Cézanne is the father of us all".
