August Macke - Lady in Green Jacket

The expressionist work from 1913 shows a lonely woman surrounded by two couples. In the background of the picture, all elements are seen twice, which gives the picture a special depth. As in his other works, all the people depicted look like faceless mannequins. The different colors increase the blurriness of the scene, as if soft pastels had been used instead of oil paint.
